Bienvenidos-Welcome

On behalf of the University of New Mexico, the Sereno Group, University of Houston, Downtown Campus and University of Michigan, the National Forum for the Public Good, and the Round Table Summit planning team members, it is our distinct pleasure to welcome you to participate in this "Round Table Policy Summit on Latino Higher Education, A National Crisis, Latinos 21st Century Educational Challenges,” scheduled for July 11-13, 2010 in Albuquerque.

The university family, the summit planning group and the logistics team have been hard at work to make your participation in this process a most successful and enjoyable experience.  The summit is designed to address critical, educational and economic issues that have far-reaching implications for our nations' economy and for the future of our Hispanic and Latino communities.

You have been identified as a potential participant in this process because of your valuable leadership and experience.  This is an opportunity to share in a cross-sectional dialogue with other Hispanic and Latino leaders representing different segments of our communities from throughout the Southwest and the nation.

We are all very pleased to have the opportunity to be part this important event focused on bringing structural and programmatic changes.  This policy development process will enhance educational and economic opportunities for Hispanic and Latino students and our communities. These changes cannot be accomplished without a far-reaching consensus-building summit designed to achieve levels of success needed at a time that is crucial to our nation.

Thank for your interest and desire in making this a truly productive and successful Round Table Policy Summit.
