Latino Summit Details
Summit Location
All conference sessions and meals will be held on the main campus of the University of New Mexico. President Schmidly will host opening day events (June 5th) at the University House and all proceeding events will be held in the Student Union Building conference facilities. Shuttle service will be provided between the Albuquerque Hilton and the campus.

Daytrip to Santa Fe
Friday, June 6, 2008
9:00 am - 4:30 pm
We will start the day off in Santa Fe with an orientation of the city and a historical walking tour. Highlights will be: Walking tour through downtown Santa Fe, St. Francis Cathedral, Old Santa Fe Trail, Lunch at the La Fonda Hotel and shopping in the charming downtown plaza.
Santa Fe has a rich heritage of varied cultures that have existed together since 1598. Santa Fe's unique architecture, holidays and its traditions are a vivid legacy of the history and interactions between the Native Americans. Spanish Colonial and Territorial cultures. Santa Fe is the fourth largest "art mecca" in the world. Participants will have many opportunities to view the millions of dollars of artwork with visitations to the numerous museums and galleries.

Support for Attendance
Participants will be asked to pay for registration, travel and lodging expenses.
Cancellations
Cancellations are non-refundable. Funds from cancellations will provide additional support for invited participants without the means to pay. If you find that you are unable to attend please notify us and do not send a substitute in your place.
Meals
- A heavy hor'dourves reception is provided on Thursday, June 5th.
- Continental breakfast, lunch, cocktail hour and dinner are provided on Friday, June 6th.
- Continental breakfast is provided on Saturday, June 7th.

Hotel Location
The Hilton Albuquerque is located in the University area of the city; 5 miles north of the airport, 4 miles east of historic Old Town, and 3 miles west of popular shopping malls.

To receive the preferred rate of $82.00 plus state and local taxes, which are currently 12.875%, individuals must identify themselves with UNM Policy Summit on Latino on Higher Education. Rates cannot be changed at the time of check in or check out for guests who fail to identify their affiliations at the time the reservations is requested. The rate of $82 plus taxes will be honored 2 days prior to June 5-7, 2008 and two days after the Summit dates.
Transportation
Albuquerque International Airport (ABQ) is approximately 5 miles south of the UNM campus. You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements.
